Profession of Sr. Chinnamma Kavitha

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord"

On the day "of full of grace", 8 of Dec. 2007, we the Dominicans of Santa Maria of the Rosary, gratefully rejoiced along with Sr. Chinnamma Kavitha O. P, who made her first commitment to God Almighty. It was the first time in the history of our Congregation, community of Japamala Convent in Bangalore, witnessed this graceful occasion along with the Utharahally parishioners and the well wishers of Chikkalasandra.

On this occasion, the presence of some of the Priests from the Archdiocese of Bangalore and the priests and sisters of the other religious houses graced the celebration. Our dear Provincial Fr. Dominic Mendonca, presided over the Eucharistic celebration, prayed, and inspired us by his homily. "Like Mary our Mother we too are called to be docile to the will of God even in the midst of trials and difficulties", he reminded us. Our Regional Superior Sr. Shobha Kuruveliparambil and some of our sisters from different communities made the celebration solemn by their presence and their prayers. It was a great opportunity for us Dominicans of Bangalore to be together on this occasion to share the joy and oneness of our Family that was taught by our Father Dominic years ago. Some of the Dominican laity too were present for the celebration. We are grateful to our provincial who took a great trouble to come over there to enhance the ceremony.
